Elizabeth McNally MD PhD, is a cardiologist and geneticist who directs the Center for Genetic Medicine at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. As a clinician, she developed one of the first cardiovascular genetics clinics in the US to incorporate genetics into cardiology practice. Her research team defined primary genetic causes of cardiac disorders and their mechanisms of action with focus on cardiomyopathies and arrhythmias.  Dr. McNally is a former Established Investigator of the AHA and is past Chair of the AHA’s Council on Basic Cardiovascular Sciences.  She is on the Board of Directors for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  She is a past president of the American Society for Clinical Investigation and the Association of American Physicians, and a member of American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the National Academy of Medicine.  She is the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Clinical Investigation.
