What's Next for Genetic Counseling Continuing Education: Opportunities & Challenges
University of Pennsylvania
Philadelphia, PA
The CLEP-GC Consortium supported by The Warren Alpert Foundation will host a two-day symposium, June 8-10th, at the University of Pennsylvania convening 45 invited leaders and key stakeholders from across the genetic counseling field to explore the future of continuing education and professional development. This meeting will bring together individuals in the field to discuss current challenges and emerging opportunities, with the goal of shaping a forward-looking vision for the next 5–10 years.
Through structured discussions and shared expertise, participants will work to build a common understanding of the evolving educational landscape following the master’s degree, explore potential pathways for advancing continuing education, and identify the key features and qualities needed to support meaningful, high-impact learning experiences for genetic counselors. While attendance is limited to invited participants to facilitate in-depth discussion, the insights and outcomes from this symposium will help inform broader efforts and ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening continuing education across the profession.
